THE SWIM EDIT

Size Guide

Find your perfect fit across all our brands

Finding the right size in swimwear can feel more complicated than it should. Unlike everyday clothing, swimwear sits differently on the body, and the fit can vary dramatically between brands, fabrics, and styles. A medium in one label might feel like a small in another. A one-piece that fits beautifully through the torso might pull at the shoulders. We have put together this guide to take the guesswork out of your purchase and help you find your perfect fit the first time.

Each of the brands we carry at The Swim Edit has its own approach to sizing, construction, and fit. Some use UK sizing, others default to US measurements. Some run generous, others cut small. Below, we have broken down the sizing for every brand in our collection, along with honest fit notes drawn from our own experience and customer feedback. We want you to feel confident when you order, knowing that what arrives will fit the way you hoped.

If you are ever unsure, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We are happy to help you choose the right size based on your measurements and the specific style you are looking at. There is nothing worse than receiving a beautiful piece of swimwear and finding it does not quite work — and we are here to make sure that does not happen.

Hunza G

One Size (fits UK 6–14)

Hunza G’s signature crinkle fabric stretches to fit plenty of body types. The fabric moulds to your shape and holds you beautifully. If you are between a UK 14 and 16, we recommend trying in person where possible.

L*SPACE uses US sizing, so UK customers should order one size up from their usual. Their cuts are designed with a California-cool fit — relaxed but structured. Tops are supportive without underwire.

Frankies Bikinis

XS–L (runs small — size up)

Frankies Bikinis is known for running small. We strongly recommend sizing up, especially in bottoms. Their ribbed and terry cloth styles have less give than their standard fabrics. If you are between sizes, always go up.

Monday Swimwear

XS–XL (true to size — size up if between sizes)

Monday Swimwear fits true to size with a flattering, body-hugging cut. Their fabrics have a good amount of stretch and recovery. If you fall between two sizes, we recommend sizing up for a more comfortable fit, particularly in one-piece styles.

How to Measure

Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level and snug but not tight. Wear a non-padded bra or no bra for the most accurate reading.

Waist: Measure around your natural waistline — the narrowest point of your torso, usually just above your belly button. Stand relaxed and do not hold your breath.

Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, keeping the tape level all the way around. Stand with your feet together for consistency.

Care Instructions

Luxury swimwear deserves a little extra attention. These pieces are crafted from premium fabrics designed to hold their shape, colour, and texture season after season — but only if you treat them well. Here is how to keep your swimwear looking its best.

Rinse after every wear. Chlorine, salt water, and sunscreen are the three biggest enemies of swimwear fabric. Rinse your pieces in cool, fresh water as soon as possible after wearing them. Do not leave them damp in a bag or balled up in a towel.

Hand wash only. Use a gentle detergent and cool water. Gently press the fabric rather than wringing or twisting it. Machine washing — even on a delicate cycle — can stretch elastic fibres and damage delicate constructions.

Dry flat in shade. Never tumble dry swimwear. Lay your pieces flat on a towel away from direct sunlight to dry. Hanging can stretch straps and distort the shape over time.

Avoid rough surfaces. Sitting on rough pool edges or unfinished stone can snag delicate fabrics. Lay a towel down before you sit. This is especially important for crinkle fabrics like Hunza G and ribbed styles from Frankies Bikinis.

Rotate your pieces. If you are wearing swimwear daily on holiday, try to rotate between at least two pieces. This gives the elastic time to recover and extends the life of each piece significantly.
