Swim Trends Summer 2026

By The Swim Edit · April 2026

Every summer has its swimwear moment. Last year was the return of the thong. The year before, cut-outs everywhere. This summer? It's more nuanced — and more wearable.

In: Metallics

Gold, silver, bronze — if it catches the light, it's in. Hunza G's metallic crinkle range is the standout here. Their rosewood metallic and ice blue metallic pieces look like liquid metal on skin. Wear with gold jewellery and nothing else.

In: Earth Tones

Espresso, terracotta, olive, sand. The "quiet luxury" aesthetic has infiltrated swimwear and honestly, it's welcome. Bond-Eye and L*SPACE are nailing this — their earth-tone collections look expensive and photograph beautifully.

In: The Long-Line Top

Crop-style bikini tops that sit just above the navel. More coverage than a traditional bikini, but somehow sexier because of the clean lines. Bond-Eye pioneered this with their Gia top, and now everyone's copying it.

In: Swim-to-Dinner One Pieces

The one-piece as bodysuit trend isn't new, but this summer it's evolved. Brands are designing one-pieces specifically to work as evening wear — plunge necklines, asymmetric straps, backless cuts that look intentional under a blazer. Melissa Odabash and Zimmermann are leading this.

In: Cherry Red

The colour of the summer. Not fire-engine red — deeper, richer, like ripe cherries. Bond-Eye's cherry Scout set is the piece you'll see on every beach this July.

Out: Neon

Had its moment. It's over. If your bikini can be seen from space, leave it in 2024.

Out: Excessive Logo

Giant brand logos plastered across swimwear peaked and crashed. Quiet luxury won. The brands worth wearing don't need to shout.
